Three Versions of Indian Fry
Bread RECIPE ONE: makes one dozen 2 cups flour Mix flour, powdered milk, baking powder, salt. Cut in shortening. Add water. Put on floured board and knead for three minutes. Roll out and cut into strips. Fry strips in very hot oil, turn once. Done when golden in color. RECIPE TWO: makes two dozen 4 cups flour Combine all dry ingredients, then add warm water and use hands to mix until the dough is soft. Allow dough a few minutes rest, then pinch out small balls. Roll these to make tortilla sized circles. Fry in hot oil. RECIPE THREE: makes two dozen 4 cups flour + 2 tsp salt + 1 tsp baking powder Prepare same as RECIPE ONE.
